INTENSIVE VOCAL WORKSHOP
I will be offering an extensive, intensive coverage of vocal lessons for the next few months. Learn the basics of singing within 4 lessons. In the lessons, you will learn everything there is to singing – breathing exercises, how to properly use the right muscles to sing, vocal warm up techniques, vocal exercises that will allow you to improve on your singing range and tone, etc. You will learn common mistakes in singing that will cause vocal damage and also learn how to correct these mistakes. On top of all these, you will also learn the different ways to emote to songs and to understand songs better in order to convey your feelings via your voice.
These components in singing will be covered intensively within 4 lessons, 1.5 hours each. Why pay loads of money to places that teach you slowly? The lessons I will cover will be intensive but fulfilling to all who are interested in singing! If you are afraid of the pace of the lessons, fret not! I will answer each and everyone of your questions individually should you have any of them.
Lessons will be held in Jurong East. Each participant will be able to record a song of their choice at the end of the vocal workshop. Imagine having a CD with your own song!
Each class will not exceed 3 people in order to ensure that they fully understand and learn the correct techniques. I will also be zooming in on individual voices so that you will see a significant improvement in your knowledge of singing at the end of the course.

with so many of my students and aspiring singers emailing me and asking me for tips on the upcoming campus superstar auditions, i decided to write a brief entry about it..

gone are the days where
1) you have talent, and no looks and you still become famous
OR
2) you have all looks, but no talent whatsoever, and you still become famous..

in the current music industry, both are needed... (though talent is still more impt)
well, you don't have to be drop dead gorgeous, or project male masculinity (coz looks can be modified, thru various methods (not only plastic surgery) )
so i always tell my students, join the contest to know where you stand..

can you really sing?
is singing well enough?
no it isn't.. coz u've got to know how to sing on stage as well... how to interact with the audience, how not to have stage fright, how not to tense up at the crucial moment...

so with auditions coming up, look out for de following
1) your looks. i know you will be wearing your school uniform, but take careful attention to comb your hair, to shave (for guys), to look presentable

2) your choice of song. dont sing a song you like, sing a song that can fully express and show off your vocal abilities...

3) your character on stage... if you're reserved and shy during auditions, you probably wont make it far... why? coz you need to have a certain personality on stage...

Altitude, performing at junction 8 =)

Altitude is formed by me and my secondary school buddies, Ryan and Eugene.
There used to be five of us but it has since cut down to 3 due to other commitments like school and work.
It has always been a pleasure and an enjoyment performing with them!
We got through the semis and the finals is on the 3march.

I've been receiving several common questions on email lately.. so i thought i would clarify over here...
I teach both solo and group vocals.

For groups, i focus more on vocal harmony and blending, vocal technique, and individual style.

For solos, i will focus on various aspects like pitching, tone colour, placing of voice, technique, etc...

I charge $35 - $50 an hour for individual lessons (depending on type of lessons)
and $25 for 1.25 hour per person for group lessons (3 or more) it would be preferable if you could find your own group of friends.

my lesson outline are as follows:
vocal exercises, warmups ( from here you can determine your problem vowels and the common mistake in wrong placement of your voice

-vocal technique/tone (the proper way of breathing, how to achieve a richer tone with your voice range. better technique, nice head voice, chest voice

-reach higher and lower notes with ease. train your forsetto

-self-picked assessment song (choose your favourite song and we can work on it together, how to sing it correctly, with the correct placement of voice, dissect the song and learn how to emote to songs.

-(if interested) you can learn the basic > chord progressions of singing and songwriting. write your own song and get to record it on CD thru my home studio

-(if learning in pairs, or if you want to form a group) i will teach you the basics of vocal harmony. voice blending (like how tension sings acapella, destiny child, etc.)

Rates: $25- $50/hour (depending on type of lessons, number of ppl, etc.)

Ultimately, get to record your own choice piece and have your own personal CD! =)
